Vintage 1950s Floral Glass Semi Flush Ceiling Light Fixture

$ 329.99

1950s Semi-Flush Ceiling Light Frosted Glass Bowl Shade Enameled Floral Vintage

The frosted glass bowl shade you have been searching for — original 1950s enameled floral, still intact, still beautiful.

This vintage semi-flush ceiling light is the workhorse of the postwar American home, and this one is exactly right. The frosted glass bowl shade carries white enamel decoration — roses, ribbon swags, and a scalloped rim border — that glows soft and warm the moment the bulb lights. Wide and shallow, the bowl diffuses light gently across the ceiling, the low-profile silhouette perfect for bedrooms, hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, and entryways where a pendant or chandelier would hang too low. Compatible with standard medium base bulb sockets. Mid-century in character, this glass is vintage original 1950s — not a reproduction — and shows its age honestly: light surface wear and a small pinhole in the white enamel confirm it. The fixture pairs the original vintage glass shade with a new white semi-flush ceiling base, cleaned, detailed, and ready to hang in any postwar, Cape Cod, ranch, or cottage interior.

MEASUREMENTS

The fixture measures 13 1/4 inches in diameter. Overall installed height is 8 1/2 inches from the ceiling to the bottom of shade.

ELECTRICAL

The fixture accepts a standard medium base bulb. Maximum 60 watts. Compatible with LED, incandescent, or CFL bulbs. Bulb not included. Rated for dry indoor locations only. As a custom-assembled vintage fixture, this light is not UL Listed.

CONDITION

The frosted glass bowl shade is vintage original, circa 1950s. It shows light surface wear and a small pinhole in the white enamel floral decoration, consistent with age and normal for decorated glass of this period. The white semi-flush ceiling base is new. The fixture has been cleaned and detailed and is ready to install.

Find Your Part

Search our catalog by part, fitter size, or fixture type — try “2 1/4 shade”, “mogul socket”, or “sash lock”.

Need help choosing or fixing a part? Our Salvage Knowledge Library draws on Vintporium’s work since 2008 to help you identify what you have, pick the right part, or plan your own repair.

Can't Find the Part?

Looking for a matching sconce, a replacement shade, or an odd-sized fitter? Send us a photo and measurements. A large portion of our inventory is uncataloged. Many of the doors, windows, fireplace surrounds, bath fixtures, and architectural pieces in the yard never make it to the website. If you don't see it online, that doesn't mean we don't have it.

The Vintporium Heritage Standard

The Heritage Standard

Restored by hand, one at a time. Old wire out. New wire rated for present use, sound sockets, and grounding where the fixture allows. The body, glass, finish, and the marks it earned stay. Every fixture is tested on the bench before it leaves the shop.

About the Founder

Joe Golda has run Vintporium from his workshop in San José since 2008. He sources the pieces, pulls the old wiring, rewires them, finishes them by hand, and packs them himself. One person, one bench, one standard. Every fixture is tested — each socket, each switch — before it ships. What's original is called original. What's new is called new. We call this commitment to candor and craft our Heritage Standard.
