Antique Solid Brass 2-Light Flush Mount Light – Restored, 12″

An antique brass ceiling light with two sockets, raised scrollwork, and scalloped socket cups. The oval canopy is solid brass and sits close to the ceiling. It's a flush mount ceiling light for rooms with low ceilings, where a hanging fixture would get in the way: an entryway, hallway, or bedroom.

The center of the canopy is a raised oval panel outlined in scrolls, with a fan-shaped ornament at the top and a turned finial below. Each bulb sits in a deep cup with a scalloped, ribbed rim. The recesses of the ornament are darker than the high points, so the cast detail stands out.

CONDITION
This is an original antique fixture. It has been restored with new porcelain sockets, new wiring, protective wire sheathing, a new finial, and new hardware. The brass has been freshly lacquered and waxed to preserve its aged finish.

The brass shows its age through variations in tone and surface wear. Small remnants of old paint remain beneath one socket cup. One brass socket cup has a small non-structural superficial crack. Please see the close-up photographs for these details.
